Digital Automation Training have just completed an 8 day training program for Petreco in Varna, Bulgaria.


Petreco are in the process of installing a second gas compressor on-shore to handle the gas from their Black Sea gas production platform. Using Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC systems and a Flex I/O network, the control systems have been installed by US company Solar. Digital Automation Training have provided the training to Development, Maintenance and Production staff at the on-shore plant to enable them to modify, fault find and maintain the installed control system.
As part of the course students were shown how to use the ControlNet network to configure the Flex I/O system. They were also keen to learn how to interface two ControlLogix Controllers to allow them to pass information between the existing compressor ControlLogix controller and the new installation.
The 4 day basic maintenance course and the additional 4 day advanced course provided the students with plenty of “hands on” training exercises. The course led the students from first principles of the control system to programming advanced FBD functions.
